TODAY'S FORECAST FOR TRAVERSE CITY
Monday, September 08, 2008
Today's forecast
Partly Cloudy
65° | 48°
Any early showers will wind down with much of Monday actually remaining quiet. Low pressure over the Great Plains will lift towards the state bringing with it rain, but any rain will not arrive in Northern Michigan until evening. Expect increasing clouds ahead of that system throughout the day with rain possible after 5:00 p.m. along/south highway M-55. WNW Winds at 15 mph.
TONIGHT
Tonight's forecast
Rain
48°
Rain will lift into the state overnight with places along/south of highway M-68 seeing the rain. Further north over the U.P./Straits, it may well end up being a dry night, although cloudy. Rain will start to wind down by Tuesday morning. Rain totals will range from a trace near the Straits with up to 0.75" of rain from highway M-55 south. North winds at 5 mph.
TOMORROW'S FORECAST FOR TRAVERSE CITY
Tuesday, September 09, 2008
Tomrrow's forecast
Partly Cloudy
63° | 42°
Rain over parts of the Lower Peninsula will taper off to a few widely scattered showers with drier air arriving for the afternoon/evening. Temperatures will be a bit on the cool side for this time of year.
TOMORROW NIGHT: Mostly Clear
42°
Skies quickly clear out with high pressure building into the state. That will allow for a chilly night across the northwoods of Michigan. We may in our coldest locales...aka, Grayling/ Pellston/ Trout Lake see a touch of frost, although it will not be all that widespread.
EXTENDED FORECAST FOR TRAVERSE CITY
Wednesday, September 10, 200848° | 69°
High pressure builds over the Great Lakes states leading to a dry day along with plenty of sunshine with just a few clouds.
Thursday, September 11, 200854° | 70°
A weakening cold front will struggle to cross over the area. It appears this front will not have much energy/moisture to work with, so a few showers, possibly a thunderstorm are possible, but that's about it.
Friday, September 12, 200852° | 70°
By Friday, all eyes will be on Hurricane Ike which will be in the Gulf of Mexico. For us, significantly quieter with just a few fair weather clouds drifting by.
